Individual support

Counselling and coaching

What is the difference between counselling and coaching?

Counselling provides support for emotional distress, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationships and other psychological challenges. Coaching is more future-focused and helps you work towards clarity, confidence, goals, habits, leadership or performance. Coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help you identify the most suitable starting point.

How do I know which service is right for me?

Begin with the service that feels closest to what you need. Counselling may be the better fit when emotional distress or difficult experiences are affecting daily life. Life coaching supports direction, growth and accountability. Executive coaching is designed for leaders navigating responsibility, complexity and performance. You can also contact our team before booking.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is a conversation about what has brought you to support, what you would like to change and what may help. Your practitioner will clarify expectations, boundaries and the most appropriate way forward. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out.

Are sessions online or in person?

Online sessions are available, with in-person support available in Cape Town for selected services and practitioners. The available format is shown when you book or can be confirmed with our team beforehand.

Can I access support outside South Africa?

Psych Industries works online with clients in different countries. Availability depends on your location, the type of support required, practitioner scope and whether online work is suitable for your needs.

How long are sessions and what do they cost?

Counselling sessions are generally 50 minutes and start from R850. Life coaching sessions are 60 minutes and start from R950. Executive coaching sessions are 60 minutes and start from R1 500. Final pricing is confirmed during booking and may vary by practitioner or service arrangement.

Is my information confidential?

Your information and sessions are treated confidentially, subject to the professional, ethical and legal limits that apply to the service and practitioner. These limits, including situations involving a serious risk of harm, will be explained as part of beginning support.

For organisations

Workplace wellbeing

How does an organisational engagement begin?

We begin with a discovery conversation to understand your people, pressure points, culture and goals. From there, we can recommend a focused intervention or develop a tailored roadmap combining employee support, workshops, leadership development and measurement.

Can an employer fund individual sessions?

Yes, individual sessions can form part of an organisational wellbeing arrangement. The structure, confidentiality boundaries, referral process and payment approach are agreed with the organisation before support begins.

Do you offer one-off workshops as well as ongoing programmes?

Yes. Organisations can begin with a single workshop, facilitated conversation or leadership session, or build a longer-term wellbeing partnership with employee support and ongoing programme development.

How do you measure whether a programme is working?

Measurement is shaped around the engagement. It may include needs assessments, participation, feedback, agreed wellbeing indicators and programme reviews. Any reporting is designed to protect individual confidentiality while helping the organisation understand overall impact.

Urgent support

Is Psych Industries an emergency service?

No. Psych Industries does not provide emergency or crisis response. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
